Produce Subscriptions

The Center for Landscape Design & Stewardship makes available a limited number of subscriptions (or shares) of the CLDS Market Garden, which is located within the Butler Township Community Garden. This program supports the mission of the CLDS by serving as an outdoor classroom for people enrolled in our “Growing Markets” Program.

Here aspiring agri-entrepreneurs learn the basics of small-scale organic agricultural production under the direction of an organic farmer, and small-business entrepreneurship through management of the subscriptions and through participation in the Downtown Hazleton Farmer’s Market.

A portion of the revenue raised from the sale of the produce, flowers, and herbs grown within the garden goes back into supporting the CLDS’ internship program and educational mission.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Produce grown in the garden is sold via Farm and Flower subscriptions sold through the Nescopeck Collective, which includes produce grown nearby at Thomas' Farm.

Subscribers receive home delivery of their shares starting in late June on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. The season runs approximately 15-20 weeks. The variety of produce is dependent on the season.

For more information on share contents, cost, and purchase options, visit www.nescopeckcollective.com, or contact Krista Schneider at 570-578-5903.
